Submission is Bliss

So, most of you know that I am married to the man of my dreams, Ben, and we don't agree on some things...NORMAL, right?  In this story you will see how Submission is Bliss, and Ben was right once again!

We have this overgrown patch of raspberries in our yard, and I have successfully procrastinated struggling with the thorns and bramble of the patch for several weeks now.  When December 1 rolled around I began pleading YHWH for some snow.  The drought seems to have lasted forever, and a white covering would signal my all-too-anxious mind that it is time to take a break from the toils of the garden for a few months.  (Only to move on to indoor projects such as quilting!!)

But, alas, the temperature stayed moderate and no snow was to be found.  I asked my husband over and again to please get the lawn mower running because I was going to mow down the raspberries.  He said no, no and NO!  I even sent our daughter out to the shed one afternoon, and she couldn't get the mower running for anything!

I finally asked why he was standing in my way (ha, ha), and he said that there were a few volunteer trees growing in the patch, and he didn't want to break the mower.

So I woke up on a Tuesday to hear the weather man say it was going to be 60 degrees that day and decided to procrastinate no more.  I got my gloves on and went to work.  By the time I had conquered just three roots of raspberries I ran into this steel pole:
'  And two more where that came from!  The whole patch was a gentle reminder that procrastination never saves time.  In fact this raspberry patch needs diligent attention...And submission to Ben is Bliss!  He is not always right, but when he is, I am eating humble pie again!  All of our adventures in gardening reinforce that things without proper covering, such as the ground, become hard and bitter.

Eph 5:22-23  Wives, subject yourselves to your own husbands, as to the Master.  Because the husband is head of the wife, as also the Messiah is head of the assembly, and He is Saviour of the body.
Heb 13:17  Obey those leading you, and be subject to them, for they watch for your lives, as having to give account. Let them do so with joy and not groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you.

And Praise YHWH, it finally snowed!  Rest at last:)
